Catamaran courses
We offer 4 types of courses, ranging from beginners to advanced and can be booked as complete courses with several lessons or as individual private lessons. All courses include life jackets. Additional equipment such as wetsuits and shoes can be rented. We would be happy to make you an offer for your individual request.
Beginners course
Get to know the fascination of catamaran sailing
The certified beginner’s course for sailing on multihulls teaches basic practical and theoretical knowledge of catamaran sailing. Throughout the course, you will have an experienced catamaran instructor right by your side. You sit at the helm or jib from the very first lesson and steer the catamaran yourself.
The basic catamaran course comprises 10 hours with an instructor and at least 2 hours of free sailing. At the end you can decide whether you want to take the VDWS International Catamaran Basic License exam. With this license you can sail and rent catamarans at VDWS stations worldwide.

Expand your sailing skills and refine your technique
This course is suitable for all sailors who have already gained experience on catamarans or monohulls. It serves as a refresher course and is also the perfect complement to the VDWS basic catamaran license. Depending on the level of knowledge, the course content is determined individually and thus builds on current knowledge and skills.

Your individual sailing plan
Your individual regatta training, a refresher course for your skipper, an excursion with the children, a sailing session with the harness in good winds or a dolphin sighting. Many also use this service to get to know the area better from a sailor’s perspective or to familiarize themselves with multihulls and Hobiecat boats in particular. Taster course
First steps on the sailing boat
If you’ve always wanted to try out a catamaran, you’ve come to the right place. Book a no-obligation trial lesson with one of our instructors on a Hobie Cat. Depending on your interest and ability, you can decide whether you want to take the helm yourself right from the start or leave it to the instructor. Even if you’re new to sailing, it usually doesn’t take much longer than 30 minutes before you’re at the helm. But be careful! Hobie Cat sailing is addictive. Most guests, whether beginners or advanced, who have never sailed on a catamaran before, are infected by the “Hobie Way Of Life” and continue their exciting journey on these fast boats.
If you want a little more, we recommend our catamaran taster course. The course content is a slightly reduced version of the beginner catamaran course. It includes 6 hours of practice with an instructor and covers some basic theory, although the emphasis is clearly more on practice. After completing the course, it is possible to extend the course and obtain the basic catamaran license.
